NeurAlbertaTech proudly announces that its Founder and CEO, Eden Redman, has been honored with the Top 30 Under 30 award by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC).

EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA– NeurAlbertaTech, Alberta's premier neurotechnology innovator network, proudly announces that its Founder and CEO, Eden Redman, has been honored with the Top 30 Under 30 award by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC).

This recognition, presented annually, celebrates the contributions of young leaders towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Redman, an influential force in Alberta's neurotechnology landscape, has been selected for his dedication to addressing real-world problems through NeurAlbertaTech's innovative approaches.

As a member of the Top 30 Under 30 cohort, Redman will be featured in the annual Top 30 Under 30 campaign and celebrated at a public event during International Development Week. ACGC's ongoing commitment ensures that selected youth, including Redman, have opportunities to grow as leaders in Alberta, Canada, and globally.

Commenting on the recognition, Redman stated, "I am honored to be acknowledged by the ACGC and included in the Top 30 Under 30 cohort. This award not only recognizes the collective efforts of the NeurAlbertaTech community but also underscores the importance of neurotechnology in contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals."

Currently pursuing a Master of Science (MsC) in the integrated neuroscience program at McGill University, Redman manages his novel, low-cost stroke rehabilitation project while leading NeurAlbertaTech’s team. Following a pair of Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Alberta, Redman took his talents to the Laboratory of Advanced Technology in Rehabilitation, led by Philippe Archambault.

Under Redman's leadership, NeurAlbertaTech stands at the forefront of neurotechnology innovation. Through a range of accessible educational resources, events, and digital platforms, NeurAlbertaTech fosters collaboration, skills development, and inclusivity within the neurotech community while supporting groundbreaking projects at every stage.

Looking ahead, Redman anticipates NeurAlbertaTech's continued impact on the Albertan innovation community, highlighting three key initiatives: natPortal, natKit, and the eagerly awaited natHACKS 2024.

natPortal, a centralized portal for access to all NeurAlbertaTech content, and natKit, an advanced research-grade software integrating multiple commercial and custom IoT biosensors, serve as NeurAlbertaTech’s flagship software offerings. Meanwhile, the upcoming natHACKS 2024, Alberta’s largest hackathon, aims to build on the successes of natHACKS 2023, where NeurAlbertaTech actively engaged over 500 individuals across Canada with the collective vision of building innovative neurotechnological solutions.

“All programs at NeurAlbertaTech are guided by the belief that everyone, regardless of their demographics, should be allotted equal opportunity to engage in and affect the technological trajectory of our species”, remarked Eden, raising concerns that many domains within the broader tech ecosystem still “exclude large portions of the population from tech innovation, with much of this disparity driven by the increasing wealth gap”. Under Redman's guidance, the organization remains dedicated to fostering inclusive and impactful initiatives, charting a course for significant advancements in the field of neurotech.
