What is the natFlat?

The natFlat is our on-campus innovation space, designed to help bring your neurotech ideas to life! Visit the flat during office hours to work on neurotech projects, learn more about our hardware, get help with workshops, or just to hang out with other neurotechies!

The natFlat is located in CCIS L1-354, right under the plaza between CCIS and BioSci. If you are visiting outside of the typical working hours, the doors along BioSci routes may be locked, so you will want to use the CCIS route!

Our Hardware

Muse 2

EEG Headset
The Muse 2 headband is a popular commercial EEG, used to track the brain's electrical activity, usually during meditation. We have access to several Muses, which are portable, accessible, and relatively easy to work with, perfect for starter neurotech projects.

Muse S

EEG Headset
The Muse S headband is a popular commercial EEG, used to track the brain's electrical activity, usually during sleep. We have access to several Muses, which are portable, accessible, and relatively easy to work with, perfect for starter neurotech projects. Compared to ther Muse 2, the Muse S a more advanced and powerful version used primarily for sleep related studies.

Blueberry

fNIRS Eyeglassses
Blueberry eyeglasses are used to track the concentration of blood oxygenation in the brain, allowing users to monitor their level of focus. The glasses are NAT's first non-EEG neurotech, and we look forward to applying them in an attention-related project.

Upside Down Labs

DIY BCI Hardware
This is a small single chip Bio-potential amplifier for recording any Bio-potential signal non-invasively. This piece of hardware can be used in conjunction with all sorts of bio sensors to achieve anything that you can think of! The sky is the limit!

OpenBCI

EEG Headset
OpenBCI headsets are among the most powerful and effective commercially available EEGs. With 16 channels, compared to the 4 found in the Muse, the tech allows us to access a more detailed view of brain activity. NAT now has two Ultracortex Mark IV Headsets, which have been used in both the Brain Drone and RemBraindt projects.

Unicorn

EEG Headset
A high-quality wearable 8-channel EEG headset for brain-computer interface applications to perfectly acquire brain waves.

HTC Vive

Eye Tracking VR Headset
We recently bought a VIVE Pro Eye virtual reality headset, with precise eye-tracking built into the hardware. Potential projects include developing neurofeedback protocols involving eye movement.
